I grew up w/both my parents in the military so i know what you're going through :'( unfortunately it's gonna suck but I have some pointers that really help keep your friendship strong: keeping in touch on a weekly basis (at least) is #1. Visit if possible, it'll be the most exciting time you've hung out. Send each other presents for occasions such as bday/holidays. Send each other pictures of things going on in your life.
